...70% of the population has experienced trauma,

and the body stores trauma.

A regulated nervous system is essential for deep and true healing.

Practices like yoga, breathwork and sound healing help to regulate the nervous system.

Healing happens when we support all layers of the client: mind, body, and spirit.

LeNaya Smith Crawford

Before taking on a holistic approach to my own mental health and healing, I believed my worthiness was tied to what I could do, accomplish, or achieve. I was looking at life through a left-brain, hierarchical perspective, approaching both my personal and professional life through this lens. I was stuck in the traditional identity of what a therapist “should” be.

I was depressed, feeling unworthy, out of touch with my body, focused on achieving, disconnected spiritually, and isolated. I was compartmentalizing my physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and communal wellness, viewing them as separate parts of myself.

It wasn’t until I began to take a holistic approach in my own healing journey that things started to change.

When I found yoga during a stressful time in my master’s program, it gave me so much joy and relief. I resonated with the power of yoga so much that the same year I graduated with my master’s, I also received my yoga teacher training and trauma-sensitive yoga certifications!

In addition to my yoga practice I began integrating more holistic healing practices into my life like breathwork, sound healing, and affirmations. These healing modalities helped to give me a sense of joy, embodiment, freedom, and peace.

While on this journey of experiencing the power of these ancient healing practices, there was a point where I was conflicted as to whether or not these practices were aligned with the teachings of Yeshua…

You see, spirituality has always been a part of my life. As the daughter of two pastors who was raised in the church, my faith has always been at the core of who I am. I wanted to make sure that the holistic practices I was growing to love weren’t at odds with my faith.

From research and in depth conversations with my parents, I realized this work of holistic healing is aligned with my spiritual beliefs, and ultimately helped me experience a closer relationship with God.

As I integrated my holistic practices and spirituality WITH the tools I had learned from years in the mental health space, it became clear that ALL layers of me were essential components to my healing. I learned that holistic healing isn’t just integrating ancient healing practices…it’s integrating ALL of you, including the spiritual.

Once I was able to integrate all layers of myself, not only was I able to experience personal freedom and authenticity, I was also able to create a business that feels aligned with who I am called to be: a multi-passionate, multifaceted healer, business owner, and human being.

The reason why I’m so passionate about holistic mental health is NOT because I’ve trained thousands of therapists or worked with hundreds of clients…

It's because holistic mental health and healing saved me, allowed me to experience transformational healing, and deepened my reverence for Yeshua.
